1st SPIRIT Activity of 2018

Over the years, you may have heard of successful people or some gurus using mantras to achieve personal success. I’ve had friends in my past suggest the same, but have only tried once, and surprise, surprise, I didn’t feel it had much of an influence. But as with many new habits only trying once, it never became a habit, so it was destined to fail regardless. Also, the mantra I chose was a five-paragraph mantra (a tad bit overboard…)
Mantras are generally a brief positive sentence in an effort to ingrain into your subconscious, creating a habit to instinctively accomplish your goal(s), focus, etc.
With a pen & paper, write down five things in your day-to-day life you wish to make better. Looking over these five choices, select one you feel has the highest success rate to achieve within the next month. Now write a few draft mantras ranging from 5-15 words in length that relate to how you want to feel, do, achieve, etc. that is a positive improvement on your life, or someone you love (but doesn’t negatively affect someone else). Of your drafts, choose your favorite (or re-edit your favorite one or two last times), keep this with you and say to yourself when alone at least once a day (or aloud if you’re not shy). You can text or email yourself your mantra, have it on a timer, calendar reminder, etc.
That’s all for today’s activity, just remember to keep your mantra brief (no five paragraph ones like I made the mistake doing). Make it a fun mantra to say, something that makes you smile, makes you motivated, or makes you laugh when even tough times are upon you.
I’d love to hear your mantra, please feel free to email me 🙂 my2cents@livinglife-blog.com
