Welcome, and thank you for joining me in this adventure to reclaim living a balanced life. Life is about living, and too few of us live life in ways that make us feel alive. I feel I’ve progressed well enough in my career over the years, through jumping hurdles and refusing to give up, however, my life is far more focused on working, and very limited time to living.
Although I enjoy my career, my dedication and motivation for career success has strongly led me to a life of missing grand opportunities and many lost moments I should have shared with friends and family, instead of feeling I live at work. While averaging 3,250-3,500+ hours a year working, far too much of my life has passed me by. In 8+ years with my current employer, I’ve had many opportunities to prove my success and risen to every challenge, however, the more success at work I’ve had, the fewer success I feel I’ve had living life. Where others are enjoying the summer with vacations and hobbies, family and friends, I’m working nights 10-16hrs on average, 5-6 days a week and often bringing work home.
I love the crew I manage, and have been able to develop the leadership and management skills I’ve always wanted to challenge myself to develop, however, my career is nothing as I wanted for myself growing up. I’ve long desired to be a motivational speaker, a coach, a business efficiency analyzer and developer, and although I often use those skills with the career I have, my success is limited to and has reached my ceiling there for many years already.
The creation of LivingLife has remained over a decade in brainstorm phase. Due to the causes that initially sparked the desire to create LivingLife, this delay has continued to plague my mind. LivingLife’s purpose is to regain balance in one’s life, specifically by taking small actions consistently over time to resolve the instability some of us feel in our lives. Where some may feel a lack of physical balance, others may feel a lack of spiritual balance, while others may fear his or her financial balance, and so on. Each of us has our strengths and weaknesses, our dreams and fears, our goals and procrastination. The activities in this ever developing program will frequently need only 3-5min. to complete, but there will be activities of longer duration and/or combinations.
Thank you for joining me on this adventure to fulfill more living life opportunities and less just getting by. Life is about living, and life needs to be lived through all its ups and downs. Difficult as some challenges are, if you’re already struggling to live life, then more problems will generate, and living an enjoyable life becomes more and more difficult to maintain if never allowing yourself the time to live. Let’s start living life more! Live each day in the pursuit of your grandest dreams and life will flourish beyond imagination.
