Long Hours Continue
Next post
38hrs in last 3 days w/ 2 longer days to go at work. Was nearly 40% of crew not at work on Sunday, was very rough at 14hrs on what is supposed to be the shortness night of the week.
On top of a long night, I also decided to add to it by not paying attention to my surroundings for a moment while I yawned as I was attempting to move equipment,
Luckily didn’t break anything, but wobble around using a piece of cardboard as a splint, so I could keep working.
Going off a little less than 4hrs of sleep for the day, I feel decent overall considering the last few days. I ‘m tired, no doubt, but my mind continues to race.
I have missed these past few days LivingLife while dealing with surviving the day-to-days of life. I did manage to do a moderate workout yesterday for upper-body due to my foot, but feel I’ll be able to put pressure on it by Wednesday to lift lighter lower body exercises.
Nutrition hasn’t been great the last few days, taking no more than 5-10min of a break any day this week again. So again, I eat light if at all during the 12-14hr shift, then come home and eat. One of the worse things to do for eating properly and maintaining a higher level metabolism.
Each day I just want to get out of work as quickly as possible, I hate to take breaks because I feel it takes time away from being home. I only have 15-30min to spend with the woman I adore each day, and it drives me crazy having to continually work such long hours without any sense of momentum to move up in my career.
Today, my LivingLife activity will be to simply stop and breathe. I began reading Mindfulness for everyday living by Christopher Titmuss. I’m only on page 30 currently, but its focus so far is being in the moment and to consciously breathe.
There are a great number of activities that top performers and coaches stress breathing properly We taking breathing for granted until we’re out of breath from sort of exercise or other cause. I constantly breathe very shallow breaths, to the point that I forget to breathe at all until I take in a big gasp.
